Hello! I'm Coleen Salazar, and I live with my wonderful husband Marc and our two playful fur babies, Bert and Bella. Birthing and parenting our own children has been a truly amazing adventure. With our children adulting, we are now happily enjoying grandparenting. Our grandson is an absolute bundle of joy!
With a deep passion for supporting families, I’ve had the honor of assisting hundreds of doula clients and thousands of nursing mothers. We moved to Visalia 2007 and I began working to gain lactation experience and credentials by working in a local hospital. In 2018, I founded Experience Birth & Beyond (EBB) offering childbirth education, labor support, and private in-home lactation consultations. Long before becoming a birth worker, I felt a strong calling to the midwifery profession. Inspired by the dedicated midwives and encouraged by my family, friends and former clients, I began midwifery school in 2019. In addition to my rigorous academic course load, my training included a 3.5 year midwifery apprenticeship serving clients in the California Central Valley. I travelled to San Diego county for short term placements with community birth midwives assisting with home and free-standing birth centers. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from the Midwives College of Utah and am a licensed midwife in California. Currently accepting lactation and midwifery clients within a 60 mi radius of Visalia. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and friends—whether we’re relaxing or adventuring. Marc’s cooking and my baking ensure that our gatherings are always full of delicious food. I’m also passionate about music (especially live performances), swimming, hiking, camping, gardening, crocheting, and alpine skiing. Daily walks help keep me centered, and I believe wholeheartedly in miracles! |
