COMM 2010 - Providing Trauma Informed Care: Learned about the relationship of trauma and health and the unique role midwives have in promoting resiliency for survivors of trauma. Reviewed supplying supportive care for those experiencing the loss of a child or birthing person. Examined challenges in the client-caregiver relationship, gained practical advice for improving trust and communication as well as self-help techniques to handle abuse and grief-related distress.

MDWF 2080 - Ante/Intrapartum FHR Surveillance: Thoroughly reviewed fetal heart surveillance procedures and utilized critical thinking. Reviewed physiological basis and instrumentation of antepartum and intrapartum monitoring including intermittent auscultation, electronic fetal monitoring, and ultrasound. Learned appropriate use of AAT (Auscultated Acceleration Test) prenatally and during labor. Taught identification of problems with FHR and proper management protocols (MCU, 2021).
